In this teaching, we see how God’s once chosen nation of people disregarded or twisted the words of scripture over many years. By neglecting God’s word, they no longer KNEW God. When Jesus arrived, the Jews didn’t even recognize Him as the promised Messiah. Since there was such a great challenge with God’s children keeping the scriptures in their heart, Christ sent the Holy Spirit to help.
